Ron -

Your engine looks great!  I was just wondering if the engine lifts brackets are original?  I thought only the big blocks got them in '67.   ???

Paul

Ron C.

Yes your correct! im useing them only to install motor then they come off! Supposedly no lift brackets were left on the Z motors in 67.Please correct me if im wrong ;D

Ugh!!  Mine are missing.  Jerry, did all the small blocks use the same ones?  Are the ones for 1968 engines the same as any other years?  Do they have any special stampings or (insert here) on them?  Thanks in advance.

Anybody?

All 68 and 69 small blocks use the same engine lift hooks.  One hole in each hook.  What I don't understand is how everyone is mis-led using the 1970s double hole front hook.  Every time I go out on the road, most small block cars that I inspect have that double hole lift hook.  Many are buying the incorrect stuff or getting bad information.

Thanks Jerry!  I wanted to be sure before I start my hunt.

when you say "double hole" are you referring to the large hole through which the hook passes or the small hole through which the intake manifold bolt passes to secure the bracket to the engine?
