I'm concerned about how much tolorance I have on the alignment of the subframe to the body.
I want to make sure the front cap assembles correctly. The alignment keeps changing after I torque the bolts.

There are two alignment holes under there.  Use two punches that fit the holes and you should have it.

There is about an inch between the upper and lower alignment holes. This
would alow the alignment pin not to be plumb.

find a threaded bolt that fits the alignment hole. tighten  a nut attaching it to the chassis.install the chassis and torque it down. remove the alignment bolts.

i used the punches.  they worked fine for me.  If you want to double check your mounting find a same spot left and right side and use a tape measure from a point on the body to the frame and do an "X" measurement.  ?Check it as you tighten.  A same measurementis a squared frame.
