Horseshoe Shifter 69 Camaro

Hi Gents,

Can someone tell me if the Horseshoe Shifter is mounted directly to the floor or on top of the carpet. I am fairly certain it is mounted directly, but thought I better ask.

The whole assembly is mounted to the floor.

The carpet is cut around it.

But don't cut the hole too big so that the console doesn't cover it properly.

I figured this was the proper way to install it and unfortunately not the way it was done when the new carpet was installed by the previous owner.
