What size flywheel should a 68 327 4spd have? The one in my car measures 14" across from tooth to tooth. The one I got out of another 68 was 13" from tooth to tooth, both are using a 10.4" disk.
                                                         Thanks

Darryl -

What are the casting numbers on the flywheels you have?  I have a 14" (tooth to tooth) flywheel with casting number 3789733 I pulled off a big block motor about 20 years ago (it's dated August 12, 1968 if anybody is looking for one).  The flywheel in my small block has casting number 3791021 on it.  Unfortunately, I can't measure that one tooth to tooth for you as it's in the car.  So I guess what I'm trying to say is, if your 13" flywheel has casting number 3791021 on it I would go with that one.  Good luck.

Can't find any numbers on the 13" flywheel, took a piece of sandpaper to it still nothing. The 14" one is still on the engine I will look today. Where are you finding the numbers?

Casting number is on the back side.  This application uses the "021" flywheel, same as the Z28, 10-1/2" clutch,

could a #3856579 flywheel be a good substitute.

If it's the same deminsion as the 021, it's fine!  Should weigh about 27-30 lbs.

I'll change to the smaller one, that seems to be what should be on it anyway.

I think I'll use the 14" one on my 69 350.
                                                        Thanks for the help
