Does anyone know what Chevrolet dealer code is 114 in zone 6?

Thank you.

Central in Fremont was 115. So it should be a Ce______ Chev.

Thanks Kurt,

I forgot about central Chevrolet. So, are you saying the delivering dealer may be around the the bay area, where Central Chevrolet was.
I know other California Chevrolet dealers in the area were/are in,  Hayward, San Leandro, Oakland. The NCRS report does not have any Dealer information in their current documentation.

My VIN is #124379L505424, built October 1968.

Any other information appreciated.

Alan,
Dealers were organized (generally) alphabetically within the zone, not by location. So 114 could be anywhere in the zone.
113 was Carstens, 115 was Central.

What was the production date of your car?

The official production date according to NCRS was 10/23/1968.

You're looking for Zone 6 Dealer 114 (at the time your car was built).. correct?  1969?   If your delivering dealer still has the same ownership/location/name, AND if the Parts Distribution Warehouse location has not changed since 1969, then that Zone/Dealer would still exist and be current...  but.. like most companies, GM changes it's structure and makeup periodically.

Note:  Zone numbers changed when the supplying GM Parts Distribution Warehouse location changed for the region (and I suspect the region boundaries changed as well when that happened.   The dealership that delivered my car, had it's 'Zone #' changed 3 times since 1969, as the Parts Distribution Warehouse location was changed from Birmingham (Zone 31), to Atlanta, then to Dallas, and lastly to Jackson MS (if I recall correctly).  The zone number changed from 31 to 12 to 8 (again if I recall the zone numbers correctly).

There are some cases where dealerships had two consecutive numbers, I'm not sure why and pretty sure NCRS does not know why that happened, it seems to be random but there are several dealers with two numbers it is possible it could be Central Chevrolet, I would suggest you look for original central documentation and see if there is anything showing 06-114.
