I got one from them last year for my 67 coupe and I was happy with it. It fit well with extra material that I tucked under the fuel filler shield.

If the car was originally a 4 speed car, the hole in the firewall where the speedometer cable goes through is different for a 4 speed muncie equipped car. The muncie 4 speed was only available in an SS car or a Z/28. If the muncie hole would be one indicator.

Sounds like possibly the brake switch under the dash.  When you depress the brake pedal, the switch button comes out turning on the brake lights. It could be misaligned or not connected well. I had this issue in the recent past.
