Decoding/Numbers / Hood date
November 15, 2025, 10:40:55 PM
Curious about how to decode this stamp on my hood. The car is a 1967 Van Nuys built car with a cowl tag date of 12c.

I am aware that other cars were rolling down the assembly line at Van Nuys but wouldn't this be out of an SS 350 Camaro?

Is there a reason this does not work or is it just me?

Why is there a 1968 camaro where it should be a 1967 on the main page?

Is it possible for a 1967 SS camaro to have had a 10 bolt rear from the factory?

Originality / NOS rs gas cap
January 18, 2006, 05:16:19 PM
I recently noticed some differences in the rs gas cap for 1967-68.  I looked at 2 originals that was caste or riveted together, a reproduction that was made the same but  known to be a reproduction and one that I was told is an NOS cap that has screws holding the gas cap cover to the part that fastens to the fill neck.  Could this one with the screws actually be an NOS cap?

Originality / L30/M20 cars
October 18, 2005, 10:21:31 AM
Are there any documented cases where a car built in July could have been a L30/M20 without the 12 bolt and no 4P on the cowl tag?  The car in question does not have the original engine or transmission and has a 3.08 open 10 bolt rear.  The car also has a 3/8" fuel line.  It does have the 2LG on the cowl tag and is a V8 car.  I do not remember the vin or all of the cowl tag but will get it to post.  The car has never been restored and I personally know the owners of the car back to 1971.

Thanks in advance,
Russ
