Glad I ran across this. A local race host was violently arguing with me as to whether or not chambered exhaust was ever fitted to a 69 Z28 because their race rules for the daily driver class required mufflers to be present.

I will once im not on my work computer. Its not much to look at right now. Currently researching body shops to take it to. I have one in my sights based on their previous work ive seen but i need to schedule a visit and see what their backlog is like.

Just joined today. Hoping to use this as an important source of information during the course of my restoration. I inherited my dad's 69 Z28 when he passed away from cancer in 2024. Im planning a light restomod since the original 302 was grenaded by the previous owner. Doing research and parts catalogging on the car currently. Looking forward to being here. Ive already checked the orphans list and my VIN isnt on there. It's a August 69 car, lemans blue with black stripes/vinyl top/interior. Planning on leaving the exterior and interior stock but adding a roadster shop spec chassis (bolt on) with a procharged LS3, TKX, 9 inch combo. Adding vintage air setup and hidden audio. Looking to make it something I can enjoy with the family in Texas summers. Not cutting anything however so it will always be an option to return to original.
