CRG withdrawl cured!

Seems to be in order. Like I said on phone Dave.. I would consider myself quite experienced now on taking apart and reassembling of turn signal switch. I came across an excellent document published by Saginaw that troubleshoots the key buzzer and horn mechanisms.

Thanks Joe.. I get like an interupted kinda buzzer sound from relay with no horn. Both are on same relay so Im hoping that is a normal function

I had some electrical gremlins with the horn / key buzzer while installing the tilt column but have since figured it out.. I think. I was able to get hands on a 1969 tilt column.. dated and has the square shaped perch where "lock" is cast. Anyways, horn and key buzzer are now working. I wanted to confirm a funtion of the system as I have never done this prior to the installation. I would like to know what happens when:

1) Key is fully inserted into ignition
2) Door is open and buzzer is activley buzzing

What do you hear when you try to blow the horns while door is open and buzzer is buzzing?

Restoration / Steering Column Harness Wire ID
June 08, 2025, 08:35:45 PM
Replaced my original 69 floor shift non tilt with 69 tilt, Have an issue when I plug in the black harness and insert ignition key, horn activates. Basically the horn is operating my key reminder / door open buzzer. Im looking to identify what the last 4 wires in the column plug do. This pic is from the non tilt colum which worked fine.

It's difficult to see the VIN dash rivets due to the water on the glass, but it w as born a 6 cylinder car from everything I see.

Coming from a biased sixer fan boy..  >:(

You have 6 cylinder car.. accept it and build the car as you wish. Find the other partial VIN on the firewall if you need further evidence of the VIN tag matching VIN 2 sheet metal stampings.
