Decoding/Numbers / Re: VIN vs Build date confusion

Quote from: bcmiller on April 29, 2026, 11:05:53 AMNot going to discuss here in an open forum. Scammers are everywhere and they can read just like everyone else.

Fake tags are getting harder to spot because of all of the data being gathered.

I was a college educator for over a dozen years but I don't feel like teaching people everything.

I remember reading somewhere.. probably here that all June cars were 06A and July cars were all 07A. Not sure if August cars followed that.

Maybe one of you guys have a link?

So there's a few guys 'cores" as sometimes referred to on here that know their stuff. William being one of them. Many of us take their opinion as true unless you can find direct evidence otherwise. Restamps were probably at their pinnacle in the 90's as it took quite some time for interested persons to spin up to spot re-stamps. Food for thought..

Garage Talk / Re: fuel additive for winter storage?
April 18, 2026, 05:44:24 AM
There is no fuel treatment that will cure or prevent ethanol fuel from evaporating and turning into varnish (sugar) if it sits long term. Its that simple.. there is no product that does it. Solution.. ethanol free if long term storage is expected

Myself, David K and Hans L have been going down the Lisle plug wormhole.. read the thread by ypu and others but looking for confirmation on what is actually factory correct 1969 M22 fill and drain plug. Kind of thinking that the underlined W is good for the fill and the #2 magnetic Lisle with 2 magnetic inserts are correct for the drain. P and Lisle stamp plugs are 1970+
