This would be the correct promo plate for 1969 Chevrolet cars. One year only.. 69 into 70. If you want an original one.. be prepared to buck up. Not cheap. I searched for a good while and paid over 250 for this one to put on my car

Thank you Danny. With the washer and snap ring I get from you, Ill try to find matching ones from hardware stores. If I do find them, I will post up the sizes, and where to get if anyone needs them for rebuilding their assembly line hold off valve. My thought of gutting a repro for the snap ring and washer are stalled at the moment. I may buy one from in line tube to see what its intervals are. I returned the two OER ones to Summit as they dont have said washer and snap ring.

Originality / Re: Big Block Timing Covers

I picked this up at Carlisle pretty cheap last year on a hunch it was off of a hipo 69 motor. Note the 16- stamp and the corner of the timing indicator. No threaded holes for cover to attach to pan. For what I paid, I couldnt pass it up.

If that is a 7B car, the VIN lines up with production date. However, those rivets indicate trim tag has been off and may not be original to car. Personally.. I wouldn't buy a car if the tag has been tampered with. If that is no matter to you, use that as a bargaining chip.

Originality / Re: Big Block Timing Covers

I have an original GM BB 8" cover that I restored and have some pics of. It has the dowel pin holes and no bolt hole in the bottonm middle of the channel. Timing tab has the AOR marks, spot welded on to the cover and has the angled cut at the corner as well. I can post some pics later.

Thats how my original looked when I pulled it apart too. Unfortunaltely the c-clip was too far gone and the metal washer was pretty bad. Thats why I figured Id buy a repro one and use its c-clip and metal washer. I circled the missing parts in your photo that were missing from both new OER valves. I wonder where a new c-clip can be sourced? I asked Scott at MCR and he said the same.. get them from a new repro valve. Well it appears that the OER ones dont have the same internals. I think there is another brand that makes them. That one has INL stamped on the face of it. Maybe Inline Tube?

So I was able to find a 108-9 dated Kelsey Hayes brake valve with the intent on rebuilding it for my car. This is the valve that mounts on the drivers side frame rail under the door. I was able to get it apart, and completely disassembled. In doing so, I had to destroy the c-clip to get it apart. So I ordered 2 repro valves, both made by OER. One came from Summit, the other from Classic Industries. My plan was to use the new internals for the rebuild of my KH unit. I also got 2 seal kits from Muscle Car Research. Upon getting one of the new OER valves on Friday, I took it apart to harvest its internals. I discovered that the valve only contained 3 parts, the spring, the aluminum tube and its corresponding seal. No outer seal, c-clip or metal washer. I then received the second valve today and it only had the same 3 parts inside. Has anyone taken one of these valves apart to use the internals to rebuild their assembly line valve? Im thinking that these OER units are basically useless as they dont have the parts that the KH units do. Here is a pic of what was inside the OER ones.

From my short time here, searching / selling for parts is generally frowned upon as there are many other web resouces for that.

rub some chalk on it and lightly brush off the excess.. might reveal it with some obtuse lighting
