Those look awesome. I'm surprised no one has reproduced and offered them already. You should copyright or license those before one of the bigger restoration companies get a look at them.

It's a shame how so many of our favorite magazines have stopped being printed and have gone to internet based content.

Happy to see this thread going again. It's one of my favorite, and definitely one of the most unique threads that I follow.

What is the VIN? I've been looking for mine for 49 years....Joe

Same here,...owned the car for 44 years, semi-actively looking for mine for at least 30 of those years.

Although an 02 built block would be too early for mine, I'd like to see the VIN anyway, please?

That's amazing!
Congratulations.
I know the struggle, I know the shop that has my cars original engine, and they just absolutely will not sell it.
Frustrating to know who has it and where it is and not be able to do anything about it

That's worse than not knowing the whereabouts of the engine at all. I'm sure you've tried every purchase arrangement, barter deal, etc...etc.... wow.....What is his stance on why he won't agree to part with it?

Just wanted to give an update, I was able to reunite the motor with car. Thank You All

Awesome, hope someday I'm the one that gets the opportunity to reunite my car/engine.

I like the 69 RS grille and headlight assembly better than the 68, and the major reason is the 68 headlight doors don't sit flush and even and the 69 does.

Sounds like you and whoever is on your team, if there is one, are good at fabrication work and have lots of talent. That being said, why not try to re-engineer the 68 RS grille and headlight doors to make them sit flush instead of reworking the entire 69 RS grille and headlight doors to fit the 68?

I finally found the original owner of my car in 2017 after owning the car since 1981. Exchanged emails, stories, and he sent me photos of the car. After years of unanswered "Hey, how's it going" type emails, I decided to look at the obituaries in his home town. Sure enough, he passed away in 2021.

I'm in the process of trying to find and contact family members to relay my condolences, and eventually inquire about if they had found any other documents or pictures related to the car.

You can't take it for granted, the short time we all have here on this Earth.

Restoration / Re: How's it look to you

Maybe I missed it but, did we ever get to see the VIN or data tag? That ( and getting the price down a bit) to me is the key to whether or not to pursue this vehicle.

Also, is the person buying it a capable mechanic, or body man, or both? Doing all or most of the labor yourself, would bring the cost of a decent restoration to "driver" specs, back into a doable project.

Full concourse 100 point restorations are a whole different game.
