Title: 1968 Camaro Air Conditioning
Post by: Oregonjam on April 27, 2009, 11:59:01 AM
Hey alll,

I have a factory Air Conditioning system installed in a 1968 Camaro.

There should be a cap (that I believe was metal) that screwed onto the system, where the stainless/aluminum fittings are, just before they connect to the hoses that travel to the compressor. It covers what looks like a shrader valve for filliing your tires but twice as large.

I am lookig for an image or a source for the original style cap.
I have asked a lot of parts dealers and have had no luck.

The attached picture shows were it would be on the system, circled in yellow.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,
John

The original part number was 3792359, but I'm sure by now it's been long discontinued. Have you tried the wrecking yards in your area? This same cap was used througout the 60's, 70's, 80's, etc...
