Question... has anyone heard of a 1967 Camaro with a 396-325 that wasn't an SS?
Nope.. never heard of that.. I believe BB required a mandatory SS option

Please explain why you are asking.
For 1967 if it had a 350 or a 396 then it was a Super Sport.

Only if it left the assembly plant as something not an SS like a 6-cylinder or 327, and afterwards got an engine transplant.

I have a 67 project factory 327 PG 12 bolt. Just thinking about going back differently. No trying to fool anybody, just thinking about something different.

Build it how you want!
Ah now I understand where you were going with the original question. Just please don't go and get a trim tag made that falsely portrays the car as a factory SS, or stamp the engine pad and transmission with your partial VIN. It doesn't sound like that is your intent, and you just want a Camaro with a BB in it.
Not trying to fake anything. Just thinking about options. A 396 may not be an option if it won't be correct. Even though it doesn't really matter to anyone but me. Thanks.

Yeah, you can badge it, stripe it, or change colors, just don't fake the trim tag!
