Anyone have original front bumper guards on their 69 ??  I'm looking for a picture if possible of the lower mounting points on the valance.  Thanks :)

Have you got an AIM? It shows good pictures of how to mount these on page 450. Marty has them on his car, maybe he'll chime in.

They aren't original their repops, but maybe this thread will help. If not, simply do an advanced search. Type in "Front Bumper Guards" and a ton of threads will pop up.

Marty, you beat me to it.

As stated the advanced seems to work better when searching .

Thanks everyone for the replies. I just wanted to confirm I had to drill holes in the valance.  Any idea how I can tell the repro ones to the original GM ones??

My guess is there is a factory stamp/stamps somewhere on the guards. Hopefully someone who has originals will chime in. In the mean time here are a few pics from a set I found from an old thread over at TC. Evidently this guy was trying to sell them back in '09. I am assuming they're the real deal;

That is awesome thank you very much for the pictures.  I just picked up a pair on EBay, seller stated they were original GM.  Just wanted to confirm  if it was worth the 160 to rechrome or buy NEW repro's.  I'm NOT going to rechrome repro's at 160 a pair when I can get them for 119 new.  Thanks again.

If they are original i would chrome them! Nice to have original parts!

DT – did you find the answer you were looking for concerning differences between repops and original guards? If so, can you post a couple of pics showing the tall tale signs of originals...stamps etc., if applicable. Also, I agree with Jack...nothing like original equipment so if you can swing it get em chromed. There is a Company over in El Paso that does excellent work and is very reasonable. Probably not very far off what you'd pay for repops.

Here is there website in case you're interested;

No I'm afraid I couldn't find out much information between the two.  I have an original rear set I remember had NO markings on them.  I did notice the repro's have the letter "R" on the tab which seems to be upside down.  Thats all I have at this point.

Anyone else add anything to this topic?  Still trying to determine what is different between the repro bumper guards and original GM ones? Anyone have an original set??  Thanks again.

I have a pair of Chevrolet-produced parts I purchased from the dealer in 1976; hopefully same as used in the factory...   these are still in the boxes and never been used (and I'm unsure if I will use them?)...  (but I don't have repro ones to compare to).. :)
