Re-stamp, the #7 stamps have the incorrect fonts and not known stamp date.

The 7 fonts match my original.  I don't know about the date.

I think the 7 font is ok, but it looks like a re stamp.

Doesn't the number 8 seem upside down?

The 8 does look upside down. The 7 in 837 looks a little far in distance from 83 and I've seen 9D3 but this is the first 9D2.

Isn't that a 67 front case?

What would be the difference between the 67 and 69 case?

According to this ad on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Z28-1100837-9D3-alternator-RARE-original-gm-stamp-427-396-copo-L78-L89-4-69-/330683082101?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item4cfe3f6575
if this really is real then these numbers should match the fonts for the one that started this thread.
So, if I understand it right, fakers can now duplicate the patina on an alternator before stamping? I'm glad I have the run of the mill '693 and '805's on my cars and bought these gas guzzling pigs during and shortly after the 2nd gas crisis when people were practically giving big engine cars away.

Steve,
I believe that the casting flash is at the front of the adjusting lug on 67's and maybe early 68's. The 69's have it at the rear.
This is what I have observed and could be wrong.
Maybe others could tell us what they have with a picture showing the lug and date?

That ebay ad is the pic I used for comparison the difference is obvious. The casting parting line thing I wasn't aware of, Thanks for sharing that.
