Clean again after 43 years

I am restoring a 69 BB, finally got it on the rotsiserie, cleaned it and found some interesting things. Photos show a date stamp just above the pinion area, never heard this mentioned before. I found sheet metal stamps all over but never with body style "12437" included. Another photo shows there is no paint under the left exhaust hanger, was this installed before the floor was painted? There is an "X6"in crayon on the rear seat panel anybody know what this represents. I cant seem to find the date stamp on the floor pan, anybody know were to look?

Here's an older thread, usually it's an X66 behind the rear seat to match the Norwood "X" code on the trim tag for SS396.  Maybe they got a little lax since the two digits are always the same, or it was at the beginning of their use.

Guys, Thanks for the X6 info. My car is a 11A car so no X66 Code on the trim tag. I never thought about the connection. The crayon markings would be harder to read so maybe that's why they started putting it on the tag. Also in the picture of the floor pan, in the front bottom of the firewall there is silver or light grey paint that leaked out of the pocket for the subframe. I am guessing when they switched colors they would have to run thinner or something thru the paint gun to clean it. Maybe the painters sprayed it in these pockets?? Those paint runs are over the black but factory blue paint is sprayed on top. Good question for JohnZ. I love tracing this stuff down but will regret to blast it off for repaint.

   per your first pic., I found this same stamp on my 67 V8 Coupe.  Maybe someone can confirm if the stamping was different for 6 cyl.=3, 8 cyl.=4, and 3 =Hdtp.,6 =Conv. ?   Anybody, any ideas?

Regarding the 12437T41, 11A is what I would have thought. Not sure about the "T" but the 41 would be the 41st week of that sheetmetal's production..
I have found "43" on parts of my 11C build.

I like the 'clean' underside..   What methods/products did you use to clean it?

I used "Challenger" kind of like 409 and just power washed & scrubbed it. Took about 4 hours. My job is working on race cars and prefer cleaning everything before it comes apart.
I never dreamed it would clean up this nice when I first looked at it on a lift. In fact I questioned weather I should have bought this car to restore after finding more hidden rust the more I took it apart. After cleaning it and finding how original most of the car is I feel better about overall condition. I guess quarters, a trunk floor, and a right floor section are to be expected after 43 years & 63K miles. I took it to be media blasted yesterday; so next week I will find out if I need more panels.

Thanks for the information...  that's what mine needs, but I'm going to try to do it without full disassembly... just jack it up high on the driveway and get under there with my simple Green, gunk degreaser, scrub brushes and pressure washer...  your photos and description gives me some *incentive* and inspiration..

That trunk pan looks to have rusted from the inside out... there was probably water leakage into trunk.
