I wire-wheeled them gently and they came out nice! There was a pile of blue dust under the wheel.
Realize this is .005 or .010" wire - you can put your hand in it and it won't get tore up.

I had the same issue with oxyclean removing some of the color from the buckle cover. However, was able to take VRT from Adams and soak the plastic part of the buckle and was able to get most of the color back. Next set I clean will remove the plastic part of the buckle.
