Here is a partial email I sent to Kurt a few months ago. It's my 68 rs/SS 350 4spd. Original trans was blown so no number. It now has an AutoGear M-21 replacement trans. Car is now black no stripes w/black interior. Besides the fresh paint only the seats and door panels are new replacements. The original rebuilt 350 has Offy/2-jet tri power and Mallory ignition and chambered exhaust. I also sent Kurt and Ed pics of the car.
Thanks for all you do. Ray

I have no documents for the car. If anyone knows any history of this car, I'd like to talk to you.

Thank you Marty for the posting. The 1st pic was taken by the guy selling the car and the others by me. I was told that the original owner took the car off the road and used it as a weekend drag racer back in the late 70's - 80's. He raced mostly in central Jersey (Engishtown Raceway Park) and Atco in south Jersey. Since the interior seats were remove back then the build sheet was pobably ruined or lost. It still has the original carpet and front seat belts. Oh yeah, and what is left of the welded on tow bar plates under the front frame. I believe the console and gauge package w/327 tach was added by the seller and is not original. Anyone have an opinion on the chambered exhaust? It sounds like the side exhaust on a SB Vette. I'm thinking that I would rather have the lower tone stainless system with headers. What do you think?  I have done the all original thing for a long time with many shows cars my Dad and I built and collected through the years. I'm in my early 60's now and wanted a car that I can criuse with. This is it! Ray.

Maybe a long shot, but why not research Englishtown Raceway Park's or Atco's archives to see who else was racing during that time period, or maybe names of people who worked the track. Maybe you can run those guys down to see if they remember your car.

I am not at all familiar with ERP but when you do a search, tons of links pop up. In fact, I think Jerry M. is very familiar with that track. Old Reliable raced there as well. Maybe he can find you the right contacts.

Its a big order and I feel your frustration. I've been searching for the original owner of my car since August of 07.

I enjoy seeing how the different parts evolve. Does your mirror's housing have a drain hole?

Yep, the drain hole is there.

Beautiful car by the way IZRSSS!  Love the color...

I think all of us who own a L48 are lucky to have access to this great car. I know a lot of you guys are currently restoring yours so maybe these shots will come in handy. Hats off to you Steve and thanks for sharing! BTW, I tried posting up a body shot of your car but none of my copies do it justice. Do you mind...

All of the following pics, are pics of pics so I hope they come out okay. Haven't quite figured out how to gang post original photo's yet.

First pic...The cars history...

I'm including this discussion on "Kickdown Cable" and "Spark Plug Wire Towers". If any of you can shed light on either topic please do. However, I am mainly concerned about the Towers. It looks like there could have been two different types used. If anyone has the original towers that came with their car please post pics. Also indicate the build date of your car & L.A. / Norwood built.
