I personally would keep the wrong dated 772 rather than the un-stamped 772.  The unstamped 772's are a popular choice when they can't get the correct date. I know they are just as 'correct' but the stamp is a nice touch....

The unstamped fan is not an unstamped 772 fan.  It is a very different design.  Check the pictures showing the two fans.

Marty, I'm NOT an AACA judge but have been to school a few times. They won't catch your fan's date and don't even check such things. A car can have ANY option or package available in the year the car is supposed to be. There is a WIDE interpretation her, options can be added, car can be painted any color available for the year. A six cylinder turned into a Yenco is OK with them.

Maroman,

Thanks for being honest. As I mentioned before, it will be a while before my wife and I can make a trip to your neck of the woods for a AACA event. However, it is nice to know we won't need to spend 60 to 90k to be respectable. I had posed a question similar to this at my AACA/ISCA thread and you were very helpful then. You mentioned the main thing judges are looking for is Condition and Cleanliness, with deductions for after market gadgets or parts. I think we're one leg up in that category.

I would eventually like to give the National Certification a shot and I also think AACA would be great place to start. There is no question in my mind there will be plenty of qualified Camaro experts at this show who can give good sound advise. My frustration is that there is  no one here in New Mexico that knows blank about these cars. In fact, even though my car did very well at the SW Muscle Car Nationals...it was a 69 DY Z that took best of show. Sad thing is that this car had many things wrong with it that I could see. I could only imagine what members here would have done to the car.

Thanks again...

Yup...grill for starters and RS wheel well trim...Keep in mind, if Ed's 69 Y would have been in the competition he would have won hands down!

I see what you mean Marty. It probably would take a beating if there were any detailed pics like the eBay auctions have.
Was he the judges brother-in-law? Roll Eyes
