Motor Mounts
« on: January 06, 2011, 12:32:47 AM »
I bought a set of motor mounts for my L 48.  They were too wide in the throat by 3/8". Bolt wouldn't reach all way thru.  So I take these back thinking a mistake was made. Got another set out of the box at the parts house and they are the same.  Got a set out for a 327 just for kicks. They fit like a glove.  I  know the frame mount has not been changed. Has anybody else experienced this? ???

Well sir I hate to tell you this but from what I see you have 307/327 perches in the car. Read this for the reason for my thougths, about 1/4 way down the page.

If I read this correctly I will need a set of mounts for a  302 or 396? All the mounts for a 350 are the same at the parts house.. All too wide.

"The 1969 302ci and 350ci engines used a shorter (~3/8 inch) and narrower (~1/4 inch) bracket."

Looks like I read it wrong to start with. It sounds like you got it right, I would take an old mount or at least compare it to the 350 mount.
