That appears to not be a valid VIN for any vehicle I have ever seen.

Can you post a photo and make/model it is on. It is not a GM VIN I am familiar with at all.

A VIN when decoded for a 1st gen Camaro will only tell you the following
6 or 8 cylinder, Coupe or Convert, year of manufacture, Assembly plant, and serial number

The trim Tag would help you decode factory installed options...

Are you in Venezuela? Can you post a photo of the VIN plate and cowl tag?

I cannot get the pictures to load in this format. Please go to - www.drop.io/69RSCamaro - to view the pictures of the cowl tag and the speedometer.

Can you post a photo of the VIN plate so we have both it and the cowl tag? The car may have been built in Venezuela, and the VIN plate could verify that.

He says that the VIN number and the Cowl tag have the same number. We are also thinking that it is from Venezuela. Is taht what the KC means?

Can you help me decode the following VIN Number?

12437KC100126

12437 is the body type = Coupe
K is the year = 1970
C is the assembly plant = Caracas (Venezuela)
100126 is the sequence number

A rare car indeed!  Does the car have it's original engine?  If yes, can you post a picture of the engine pad?

I believe that this car is a 69. Does the K still stand for 1970. Where did you find this info on KC? There a lot of folks on the net looking for this kind of info. I saw another post in another forum and they had a JC code.

I have verified that the engine numbers match. I have posted more pictures at www.drop.io/69rscamaro
We will get the cowl vent removed shortly and take alook for any other stampings there. If I am guessing right, the K is for the 10th month which makes this car one of the late 1969's produced due to the extened production schedule while they were fixing the metal stamping problems on the 1970 cars. Any or help or questions would be appreciated.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the year code on the first generation Caracas Camaros is as follows...

G = 1967
H = 1968
J = 1969
K = 1970

The letter "I" was not used because of it's similarity to the number "1".

The person on this forum who could tell you the most about the Caracas Camaros is "KurtS".
