As above and yes its a serious question. I would appreciate serious answers if people here know.... I am talking about at a drag strip obviously and would prefer to do as few modifications to standard as possible (obviously apart from engine etc etc) . I do understand its all in the way to get the car to hook up , Does the fitting of Caltracks have to be done? Any modifications to the front suspension? What have you guys done?? Thanks in advance

I have a friend that has done this.  Assuming you have enough power, it is all in how the rear-end is set-up.  Start your research there.  I'll talk to him and see if I can't find out more.

Very impressive that that is lifting the fronts on the street and not a prepped track surface.
Very old pic according the traffic in the background.
Ahh, those were the days.. Long before political correctness came along turned the majority of the population into wankers.

Oh, is that a Motion Camaro? Is that what I can see on the front fender?

I asked Mary Schorr about the pic. He was instrumental in the success of motion. Here is what he told me.

I took the wheelstanding photo on Sunrise Highway (not really a highway!) outside of Motion. I'm guessing it was taken in late 1968 and I'm not sure if Joel was driving or Billy Mitchell who was the car's regular "shoe."
I shot it on a Saturday with my Nikon SLR filled with Tri-X b&w film rated at asa 400. I believe the lens was an 85mm Nikkor.
Joel had just dynoed it for running on Sunday at New York National and they were checking it out. The big-block Camaro was the black 1968 model that was run during 1968 and 1969 seasons and set a long list of NHRA records. After the wheelstand he made a full pass, came around and did it again. Yes, there were no license plates on the car!

I had a Nova drag car with a 406ci,10" slicks,Cal Tracs,Turbo 400 with 4000RPM stall and trans brake. No problem getting 12" of air.

Push down on Right pedal LOL
 cal tracs traction bars are worth every penny and are and will need adjustment to dial in .
some 90/10 shocks up front undo sway bar end links up front for weight transfer also.
Lastly very sticky tires MT Is what I run 275/60/15 with about 12.5 psi in them.
