1969 Gas Gage issue

Hi all have a ? working on putting my Friends 69 back together with a full tank of gas it reads about a 1/4 to 1/2 tank Has a New sender and New Gages it is a 4 spd with gages in the console. It had this issue before the resto same thing. grounds seam good. could use a little help.t also has a taillight issue may be same issue. electrical not my strong point.

Sender should be at 90 ohms for a full tank and 0 ohms for empty.
If there was a short it would be reading empty, so that's not the problem.
Try this... Unplug the sender wire (tan) from the harness in the trunk and then turn
on the ignition key, gauge should read past full.
If it doesn't, you have eliminated the sender(it's probably OK), it's either the wiring or the gauge.

Da67Kid,

On my 1st Gen, I purchase two bad repro sending units (giving bad readings) that I finally change for a Spectra Premium Sending Unit P/N FG104C (3/8 Single Line) that I purchased from NAPA.
