DZ intake manifolds
« on: May 02, 2008, 06:08:19 PM »
Well guys I'm new here but I hope someone can give me the real facts on this subject. I have an aluminum intake manifold with a casting #3932472, a winters casting mark and the steel cover intact on the bottom side covering the casting date. It is my understanding that this manifold is specific to the 1969 Z-28 302 engine only, meaning that the only way that this manifold was available was from the factory on the 69 Z-28 302 and it was not available thru GM over the counter except with a different casting # making it a very rare intake manifold. Any info on this would be helpful in determining the true facts. Most of the info up to now points to the fact that this is true except for some info I have collected in the past few days. Thanks for any help.

That is a 69 Z intake.  I don't know how rare they are.  I've seen them go for $200-$400 on E bay.

That intake was readily available over-the-counter back in the day, and was superceded in later years by a GMPP intake that didn't have an oil fill tube hole.
