Paul, not sure what the 981 is, but I have seen what looks like julian dates stamped on the buckles and tongues. H348 might be a Hamill from day 348 (early Dec ?)

I thought about that Kevin and julian date 348 would work for my build date, but there is no consistency with these numbers.  Most of the clips are blank.  The clip stamped H348 is the only one that has a letter stamped on it with the numbers.  My mistake, the clip stamped 981 is actually 991 (not that it matters at this point).  Also the buckles are stamped with four digit numbers...  3581, 7106, 7111, 7119, & 7121, to list them.     :P

Paul,
It looks like those #'s stamped on the clips and buckles were some sort of in-plant use. I've seen some that looked like date codes, but other belts out of the same set can have a totally different style number. So, no, I don't.

Mike,
Thanks! That's even earlier than I was expecting! What style are the front lap belts? I think they are dated 42F68.

I'd like some more data from other 69 cars to confirm the change, but the report appears wrong on that detail. A revision will be forthcoming soon.

Kurt

Deluxe seat belts.

Front retractors are 42F68

All Front belts are 38C68 and are the ones like the 70+ picture. So I actually have 4.

The rear are all 34C68 and are the 67-69 style in the picture.

11B VanNuys

I guess I never looked that closely at them before but it appears I have both styles in my car and I know they have aways been with my car.

Thanks for confirming the which buckles were where.

1914 is a rear belt.
1907 is the front belts. 1952 is the shoulder. Do you have 5 1914 belts?

A belated thanks for the belt info. :)

Chris,
Is this from your N-N coupe? I thought it was a 10D car?

Kurt, I purchase reproduction deluxe belts for my car.  It's a Van Nuys Dec Build.  The person who made these said even though the car is a '69 and it was an early build the yr on the belts should read '68.  They read; Hamill, Model # 1952, 44 A 68.  Did I mess up?

Did you see http://www.camaros.org/seatbelt.shtml#tags?
It's the actual year, so it would be 68. But Hamill belts wouldn't have an A in the date code.  Not like anyone would notice....
