vin # question?
« on: February 21, 2008, 01:17:10 AM »
I was told that there is a company that will reproduce vin numbers to go in the corner of the dash if yours is lost as long as the owner has the correct paperwork to vouch that the vin on the panel between the hood and the windshield are the same.  I heard that if a new vin is issued that goes on the door will take away from the cars value and originality.  I have a clean title and a police check has been done on the car.  I was just wondering if anyone knows if or where I can get this taken car of.

There are people that will make a new VIN plate for the dash to replicate an original, but it's illegal on a federal level.
