1967 Protecto-plate
« on: November 16, 2007, 06:26:21 PM »
Were 67 Camaro Protecto-plates identical to the 69's or were some made from plastic? Someone gave me a 67 user manual with a plastic Protecto-plate stuck to it. It was for a Canadian car (not that it should matter).
It's impossible to have a valid certificate of authenticity without verifying that it is not a rebody.

Yes, Canadian P-O-Ps were plastic and the format was different than the US version.

I was wondering about that. In 1978 I purchased a Canadian 1967 Camaro RS convertible from the original owner and it came with a plastic warranty card. I never heard of the P-O-P until I saw it on the CRG website. I started restoring the car 25 years ago and then put it in storage for the last 20 years. I have the plastic card stored away in a box some ware but I don’t remember it having all the information that the P-O-P has. Does anyone have a picture of the Canadian card?

Here's a typical GM of Canada plastic P-O-P card from a '67 Camaro.

Thanks John, I’ll have to try and find mine. It’s in one of about 20 boxes of Camaro parts.
