69 Camaro PC interior door cards etc.
« on: December 05, 2023, 07:26:11 PM »
I have had my car for 8 years or so and have noticed that some of the cars interior panels are vinyl and some are ABS plastic. I presume they where vinyl covered originally. I am thinking of redoing the interior, which is best. My car has an orange interior, what did the original door cards look like and where might I find them.
Any info would be appreciated.

If your car is a '69 Pace Car, then it doesn't use 'door cards' in the strictest sense of the term.  Instead the door panels are custom panels with custom (not flat) support underneath.

Yea, your car came with Deluxe interior and not standard. Both are referred to as “door panels”. The reproduction panels are plastic, and the original ones are cardboard. From what I remember, the reproduction panels look good, but the housing is not bent at the top area to fold over correctly and presents a fitment issue. For your car, I would recommend having the panels recovered. Not cheap, but you know the fit is good. You can buy the bulk material from Classic industries by the yard and have an upholstery business recover all of the panels.
