Coming to auction, here are all the drivetrain and cowl tag stampings. Wish the rear axle code was better.
Doc.

Could you provide more information on the auction, which one and when?

Thanks, not sure how I missed that one.  Is there anything in the database on this car?  There is a lot to like about this one for me.

The date codes seem appropriate for a March 1969 body build date assuming they are not altered.  I am not competent at judging date stamps.  Any opinions would be appreciated.  Would a November 1968 Holley date be appropriate for a March 1969 body build date?

Stampings are legit. Holley date is within reason.  Doesn't look like originally a cowl hood car from the photos.

I appreciate the input on stamps and Holley.  I asked about the hood and the response was "The hood is original."  I asked about the rally wheels and the response was "According to the owner they are the original wheels, but have been reconditioned."  I am doubtful about both.

This Camaro appears to me to have been repainted as the door strikers and the trunk latch have been painted.

I don’t think the door strikers were on the car when it was painted new in 69. These have green paint on them. The seller uses the word “believe” alot.

The doors & trunk lid were fit & adjusted prior to paint. All the hardware, bolts, latches & strikers were all painted at the same time & on the body as I previously indicated...Joe

Joe is correct.  Read the Assembly Process here http://www.camaros.org/assemblyprocess.shtml

Its also been witnessed on countless original cars.

I saw “fitted” and my brain didn’t relate it to “adjusted”
