'68 Wheel well mouldings....INSTALLATION!
« on: January 17, 2021, 11:46:03 PM »
I have a '68 SS/RS and wanting to install wheel well mouldings but having issues with some interference with the lower body moulding on the front fenders, anyone have any ideas where the full length moulding needs to be cut or can I purchase the correct ones?

Well, I was looking for a GM- Chevy Tech SHeet I have about, trimming down the STD or NON-Z22 (RS) PN#'d Moulding (Front) Part to meet the three pc lower trim.

I think there is discussions on this topic- (Search) i think Ed had great #'s

For Me; I bought GM mouldings from Classic Camaro (1980's) & they were out of the Z22 fronts and substituted the full arc Front and I got them to fit fine w/ the three pc lower trim, It looks goofy but 99.9% folks do not notice. (*My rears are GM Z22) & stop at rs rocker trim.

Found a 2/2/74 Sheet titled "REWORK REQUIRED WHEN USING UNIT 9785880-81 on a 1968 camaro rally sport (Z22)

Cut and drill hole shown above,  3-3/4", also add (1) 1/8" dia. hole in fender3/8" above cut line.

I can barely read my copy not scannable

Thanks for the info, I removed the lower fender trim to install the wheel well moulding and now I dont recall how to re-install it, I've had it apart for so long now!
