Any good 67 seat tracks out there?
« on: September 28, 2020, 12:16:18 AM »
The ones I put in my 67 don't work for crap.  Who makes good ones?

Thanks.

You might want to provide more details to get better assistance.  Repros or used originals?  If repro, any idea who the vendor was?  If original, did anyone try to clean them up or restore them?  What exactly is the symptoms of "don't work for crap"?

Repros I put in about 10 years ago.  They've never worked well.  Don't slide back and forth like they should.  Just a cheap part.  Don't recall who made them.  Hoping there's something better out there now.

Sorry can't help you on repros.  I restored my originals earlier this year.  I didn't see much recent discussion on the Team Camaro site either.

Were '67 tracks unique compared to 68-69?

Proper "Spring" placement & Lithium lube can be helpful.
just a random thought.

Trying to restart this thread on repro seat tracks. The drivers seat tracks have have some slop in them both front to back and also some rocking motion side to side. Its slight but noticeable. I removed the tracks and the culprit was the adjusting side - the inner track ( part bolted to floor) can have some side to side and torsional motion. I disassembled it and tried to adjust the bearing holder but I was not able to get it tight like the other side or like PS seat track. So ... any experience with repro's or any ideas for how to rebuild with tight tolerance to remove the wiggle and slop?
Thanks,
Allen

I purchased new reproduction seat tracks from HBC and installed them. Very nice set and solved the slop and loose feel problem completely. I am happy with them but they have to be painted (I believe they should be black phosphate but these come with zinc anodize type finish).
