Legends - You don't know jack about Camaros Part 3
« on: May 09, 2020, 09:37:40 PM »
1968 Jack bases  from Universal seem to have a tear drop cut out in them.  Are there any other styles ? What do people have for 1967 bases ?  Thanks for your help. Looking to get intro the finer details

I am 99% sure that the hole was round prior to the part being stamped... which would mean the shape could be different from part to part.

I believe he was talking about the oval hole on the base towards the rear

68 Jack Base - I had another original unrestored 68 jack that had the same tear drop or oval hole in it.  So that is why I thought it was the design and not a defect

Here's a base from a early 67 LOS car. Trapezoidal, not square or T.

Looks to me that the reason the hole looks teardrop is because the bottom of the hole extends into the area where the base flattens out. It's more evident in the pic that Jon provided.
