Bored? Feel like zincing tailpipe clamps?
« on: March 20, 2020, 01:56:29 PM »
I've had no luck with restoring zinc, maybe my Eastwood kit isn't up to par. Most likely operator failure. Phosphating coming out great, marvel mystery oil really made a difference.

Anyway, not finding a decent repop for the tailpipe clamps. Pulling my originals out to compare, pretty big difference, not to mention diameter. Yup, one bigger then the other. And beefier. Not a huge deal, I'll take another swing at it, but anybody interested, pm me.

If you can't find anyone and if this virus ends up shutting my daytime job down I might be able to work them in but that is up in the air right now.  So if someone has the ability and ready to rock and roll go for it.  Plus I HAVE to finish this survivor Chevelle before I can take on anything else in the near future.

Trying it again, think I'm being impatient, not leaving in the solution long enough. I should have some time to take a crack at it this weekend. Plenty enough to keep busy on the car. She fought me tooth and nail hanging that stock exhaust on her, little road blocks.I'm thinking prefered the old hookers But it's up. Called it alot of explicit words yesterday, swear she scowled back, lol.

Plating is the most tedious job, ANYTHING read ANYTHING will keep the plating from taking, PH oils, too little amps - with too much amps you will know, it will FIZZZ like crazy.
Small parts plate out great using a couple of AA batteries.

A power supply so you can adjust the current and voltage is a great addition or I also have used and still do from time to time a universal cell charger that has varying voltage settings.  But a power supply is the best.
