This is the car today with one repaint and the original vinyl top.

Sitting right in that photo and in the Bob Johnson photo.

Any idea where Vernell Chevrolet was located in TN?  Was it in or near Knoxville?

Since my 69Z is a Scuncio car I have over the years gone over a lot of Scuncio photos and information and that car is in several photos that I have seen. I think one with a big block and tunnel ram. Although the pics are old I always wondered about the color?

Just googled Scuncio. There are several pics of the car and others in vintage drag photos.

I like the black stripes, not a fan of body colored rally wheels. Any documentation that it came that way? Not a doubter, just asking.

We're black stripes on a blue Z28 considered special paint? This Z28 has a - - on the cowl tag.
Depends on the shade of blue. http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#ExteriorColors:T:ExteriorPaints
Tripoli Turquoise had black stripes.

Funny, this thread is about my car. All these pics are mine, but I showed them to Ed and he proceeded to start this thread about it once I was able to track down the original owner and he sent me pics from when he owned it. I have owned the car since 1981. I found him in 2017 so,...guys, don't give up searching for cars or owners, you never know.

If that is the original vinyl top it has got to be as brittle as ever. I'm surprised it's not turned to powder. I removed and replaced my original top in '87 and it was hard and brittle. The replacement has held up well but has never spent extended periods outside. I'm sure the quality of vinyl had improved from '67 to '87.

It was only in the elements for 4 years, 68 through 72. Was a drag car until 81, only out to race during the summer a day or two a week if that, and always garaged the next 41 years by me. Never seen rain or snow. It's not brittle at all. I have always kept it treated with some sort of vinyl protectant.
