Please post non camaro engine and tranny vin#'s you may have.
« on: February 02, 2007, 08:20:07 PM »
Hi, I do research on fullsize chevrolets and was wondering if members could post the numbers off any engines or muncies they have that might be out of a fullsize chevrolet or chevelle (not out of a camaro).  I need the casting number, stamped date and stamped vin#.

Thanks, Warren

I don't have this engine anymore - sold it.  In my notes, I can't find the casting number.  Howerver, I do remember reading in Chevrolet by the Numbers, (the early '60's book in this series), that in 1963 there was only one block casting used for a 327.  I do remember that the one casting number shown in the Chevrolet by the Numbers book that covered 1963 was the casing number of this engine.

Original VIN# unknown
Pad Stamp:  T0209R
T = Tonawanda, NY
0209 = Feb 9
R = 327; 1962-1964 full size Chevrolet, manual transmission.

C B 5 63   The "C" is not clear, it may be some other  casting mark.
Block casting date; Feb. 5, 1963

Hi Warren -

- vin: 154358S210261
- engine assemble date: V0323DH
- differential assemble date: EU0321G
- automatic transmission assemble date: C8C20N

Hope this info is of help to you.  :)

Yes it does.  I'm always looking for fullsize protectoplate info.

Could you send me the rest of the info off the protectoplate (trim, paint, carb, date and option codes)?  Also, could you send me the date and dealer given in the protection plan book?

Thanks, Warren

Hi Warren -

  Here's all the data off the protecto-o-plate:

B     DD          154358S210261  B
VO323DH       EU0321G            3
C8C20N               3 1               *

* = Chevrolet bowtie symbol.

The vehicle was sold by Placke Chevrolet, Inc. on 3-30-68.

I have all the original documents for this vehicle in excellent condition, so if you ever come across this vehicle in your research I would be happy to sell them to the current owner.  :)  Just email me through the CRG forum. Hope this info helps.

The dealer was in St Louis, right?  Do you have any other stuff from the car like the invoice or window sticker?  Thought I'd ask.  I haven't seen this car before.  Where you get this owners manual set?

Hi Warren -

   Correct, St Louis, MO.  No, I don't have anything else you mentioned.
