Engine assembly date
« on: March 22, 2017, 12:41:22 AM »
I have a big block engine where the 840 head casting dates are 6 days before the build date of the engine. That seems close to the build date any body else seen some thing similar

Yes, I have seen original engines with heads cast one day before the engine assembly date. :)

That's normal, often they are closer.

closer than ONE day?  ie.. meaning the heads were CAST, AND machined/built the same day they were put on a just assembled engine?  You've seen that more than a handful of times?
