Correct 69 drivers side mirror
« on: March 19, 2017, 09:27:59 PM »
I need a new drivers side mirror FOR A 69 and want to get the correct one. From what I gather, the ribbed one is correct? Should the rib go over the end? Should the point have a dimple or be flat?the price for the repop is all over the place, but the gm ones look like a rib and a dimple

I was able to source a nice NOS mirror Joyce Borrell.   They can restore mirrors as well.

Be aware that the NOS ones can be very poor quality. I went through over a dozen boxes til I found one that was good (not great).

I needed a RH side mirror for my 69.  It was the ribbed unit made By Goodmark and sold through the parts geek for $14.95 + shipping.  Got it and I wasn't disappointed, it was just off from what my NOS unit was I was replacing.

The Goodmark unit had the rib exactly like my NOS unit, it was a little too wide at the end.  Besides that, nothing else looked bad.

For the price it's ok.....or you can pay through the nose buying one from Heartbeat City.

But as mentioned before some of the NOS ones you see on eBay are in worse condition than the repros.  Today most NOS units are usually returns that were reconstituted back into the parts stream by unsatisfied buyers.
