124378N410149 was on ebay several times back in 2008-2009 and is now an SS/RS "show car" that's HIGHLY modified with a Donavon 427, Viper 6 speed, Moser axle, 22" rims, etc...

Too bad. It would be worth MUCH more if they would have just kept it original (if that was possible).

thanks Tim

I was always curious about the Yenko Sportscar Dealers sponsored drag car that looks like it may have been a 67 Z/28

it was run by Tony Pizzi who had a shop in PA.

I met a guy who knew Tony (Tony had passed away). He didn't know much about his 67 Camaro but knew Tony's 1968 Camaro drag car which he said was built to Z/28 spec by Tony.

The 67 looks like it may have been a real Z but its hard to tell as many race cars were home built and I don't know if it was bought from Yenko Chev

I think the Yenko sponsored Pizzi car may have only been run for a short time in 1967 because Yenko took over the 67 Camaro drag racing program from Nickey Chevy.
Together with Dick Harrell, Yenko got the 427 Camaros legal for AHRA and Yenko sponsored the Harrell 427 Super Stock Camaro and 67 Camaro Funny car.

Joe can't tell in the pics are those emblems or stickers on the bottom of the fenders? I know the 69 Yenko roadrace car was a junkyard car.

Joe, I spoke with Ollie Volpe about that car. Volpe was the owner, Pizzi the driver and Rose was the money guy (who in reality had no money and was dropped before the end of the year). Ollie said it was a red Z-28 prototype that came out before the other Zs did and he said he bought it through Yenko. He said he worked closely with Don to get this car, ran it for a year and then had Jere Stahl sell it for him. He has no idea whatever happened to it. I only know of two red Zs that came through Yenko in '67 and Ollie's car was neither one of them. The prototype story is hard to buy into but that's what he said. There are no Yenko records of Ollie's car that I'm aware of and I did speak with Warren D about it.
