windshield and rear window install

Getting ready to install the windshield and rear window on my 69.Has anyone tried to install the butal tape with off white cloth around it like the factory? Anyone have any original pictures of the factory installedwindshield?thoughts??

Nobody replicates the original dam, and the factory did not use butyl tape. The best you can achieve is a new foam dam used with urethane. My glass tech can lay a urethane bead with precision, and a dam is not needed. If one really must have a dam he will use it. There are threads on this site with photo reference of original dams.

We have been using a ribbon to duplicate the cloth... along with the dam and urethane.
