Local Cruise-in and Oktoberfest 2016
« on: October 17, 2016, 11:56:38 AM »
This was from a small cruise-in at our local sand blasting place here in Lebanon, TN.  They have been featured on Horsepower TV and Musclecar a few times in the past.

This was the 29th Oktoberfest here in Lebanon, TN and they ended up with a little over 470 cars.  A lot of really nice cars and I wish I would have been able to get more pics as well as more detailed pics on cars.  Just about all of these cars are local to the middle TN, southern KY area.

If anyone is interested here is a Vette for sale.

IMHO this was the nicest Camaro there and I hope he got 1st in his class because he deserved it..  Forgive me but I am terrible with names but the gentleman was a local to middle TN and is a lurker here and hopefully he'll post up eventually and introduce himself.  Myself and fellow CRG'er z28z11 talked to the owner and his buddy (which has an early 68 302 emblemed Z; not pictured) for quite a while and super nice guys and the owner did all (or most) the work himself including the paint and bodywork.  BTW that is single stage paint..   :o

Another super nice car..

Darrell,

Remind us NEXT YEAR BEFORE the event...  it seems like one that's worth driving 100 miles to attend!   Some beautiful cars, and from their website, lots of stuff going on for 2 days.. :)

We have to wonder about the venue now - as we understand it, Wilson Bank and Trust (sponsor) is building a large addition on the old Castle Heights football field where the main show centers, it may force the move to the Wilson County Fairgrounds (which would be OK - new 78,000 sq. ft indoor arena just completed). One of us will post the new location on the site prior to the show date.

I'm not a big Ford fan, but the GT40 was a surprise this year - pretty expensive car to find in a local show. A lot of good looking cars, early to late, with a bunch of trucks and everything in between. Worthy -

Thanks for posting the pics, DW - great job.

Regards,
Steve

BTW they did say during the awards presentation that they planned on having the admin building finished by this time next year and would have car show parking in the parking lot around the building..  So idk what will happen but for them to build that in less than a year I would be surprised unless its not going to be a large as I thought..  I thought someone (maybe you Steve) that it would house over 300 jobs.?.

Oh and Gary the show is usually the same weekend that AL puts an ass whoppin' on TN.. :-[

From my past memory of this series, both teams have enjoyed 9 game winning streaks before, but this year marks the first time (that I know of) for a 10 game winning streak!  (and not always an ass whopping).. :)   (remembering the block FG a few yrs ago!).. :)
