Ok bought the cable clips but how do you install them? They seem to need to be riveted somehow

You should be able to insert the clips into the hole easy enough and then use something like a nail counter sink tool that has a tapered shape and insert it and tap with a mallet lightly and that should expand them internally to lock it. Maybe a screw driver that just fits into the inside of the clip will work.

If it is a hollow tube yes it will need to be expanded in order to make it remain in place.

It should be hollow, sort of like the fuel and brake clips.

The repo frame clips are a rip, total junk. Good luck using them, nothing like the originals.

Hi James!
Discussed here in my build thread. http://www.camaros.net/forums/133-build-projects/182584-time-another-68-z-28-restored-46.html
What I wrote and did- "I finally found what I thought worked great for securing this clip, a threaded rivet. The threaded rivet has a size that is just about exact to the brass one in the repro battery cable clips. Just take out the repro clips type rivet, and replace it with one of the alum. threaded rivets. I painted the threaded rivet black for a nice match. Only minor issue involved the arbor on the threaded rivet installation gun as its too big to fit thru the rectangular slot in the clip but that was easily fixed by drilling four (4) #6 nuts to a larger I.D. and using them to fill the gap enabling a tight fit so the crimping could be completed. Very easy and it worked great. A little touch up and ready to go."
