TH400 filler tube
« on: February 05, 2016, 07:53:22 PM »
Is the filler tube (dipstick tube) for a 69 TH400 supposed to have a bracket to bolt it to the back of the trans? The one in the car does not have a bracket (kinda flops around a bit) but the replacement ones seem to always have one.... Which is correct?

Should be left "natural" correct?

Yes; the dipstick tube and the vacuum modulator pipe have brackets that fasten to the upper right trans mounting hole. Natural finish.

Shown in the assembly manual section M40 pages A4 & A5.
