Question about 69 z28 Crankshaft Pulley
« on: December 22, 2015, 08:27:24 PM »
Just wanted to know if this 69 z28 pulley is GM or not.....the font looks different than some....did the vendor making these for GM use more than one font style during the 69 model year ?

As for the pulley itself looks correct to me....

Any and all help appreciated in advance

3956668CG from my 01C X77. I can vouch for the pulley from 1973 as being original to the car (actually from '72 when I first worked on it). Spacing on the CG is a little different from your pic, but similar font. Could be caused by more than one vendor, or different production dates/different or replaced stamp -

Regards,
Steve

I don't have an answer for you but in my mind it's just a pulley. I would run it.

Pulley from my 03B X77.  It's the original and has the same fonts as Steve's.

I will look at the font on my original pulley tonight.

I can tell you this:  2 seconds after you start the car, you will know if it is a repop.   They are horrible.   Not very round, or true.  Easy to spot.
