67 Cowl Tag Trim Designation
« on: November 15, 2005, 06:16:22 PM »
I was starting to document the numbers on our 67 convertible and came across the following in the Cowl Tag area. The color of our 67 is Marina blue which would be an "F" and the (3) in the Marina blue indicates that the stripe would be black as well as the top. Our stripe is white as is the top and tire stripe. Is this the reason the cowl tag for the TR is 0717-Z F-1..?

Here is how the hole tag decods:

Decode for body number: 099552
03D = Built the Fourth week of March.
67-12467 = Standard Interior Convertible.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
717 = Standard Blue Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats (without headrests).
F-1 = Lower Color is Marina Blue and the Convertible Top Color is White.
B = Interior paint is Blue
Options:
1D = (C06) Power top convertible
2G = (D55) Console front compartment
3S = (Z23) Interior Decor group
3K = (Z21) Deluxe exterior trim
4F = (D33) Mirror Remote Control
4N = (L35) SS 396

Tire stripe has no influance.
Stripe color fallows the top color.

I take it the car has a 3-speed trans?  Any of the original drive train left?  What is the vin#?

Thanks..That's what I thought.

Trans is M40..I'm a newbie and I gather the car is described as a "survivor". All origninal(except carpeting and the top) and matching numbers. I put some pics up on the Camaro Tech site..

Stripe color fallows the top color.

I have a K-1 67 convertible, and the bumblebee and pin stripes were black, so I would say the stripe color did not always follow the top color.

Stripe color follows body color, but can change based on top color. There is a chart at: http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#ExteriorColors that breaks it down pretty well.
