LOS Built Cars Sales Destination
« on: July 19, 2015, 03:47:43 AM »
Just happened to be looking at this http://www.ebay.com/itm/151750742931 and noted it is a LOS-built car that appears (if docs are genuine) to have been sold new in Massachusets. Wondered how unusual it was for a LOS car to be sold in the North Eastern states, when NOR was obviously far closer. Also the drivetrain components would have to cross the country to LA.
Could orders be directed to the other assembly plant to try and even out production demand?
Tim in Australia.

I've wondered the same thing... Back in the 90's I owned a 70 Chevelle SS396 convertible. It had the original engine, I found the build sheet on top of the gas tank. I also had a copy of the original MSO and complete title history back to new. It was a Van Nuys built car that was sold new in a small Kansas town, the Kansas City assembly plant was less than 200 miles up the road.

Interesting Question! My VN built camaro went right to the Overseas Military Terminal, I assume to Hawaii.  I have no chance of tracking the car further :(

My 69 is just the opposite - built in Norwood and sold in the Los Angeles area, while the Van Nuys plant was still producing Camaros
