KING Chevrolet Cincinnati Oh COPO info
« on: July 29, 2015, 04:43:20 AM »
Looking for any information on any copo's that may have come from King Chevrolet.

In particular a Lemans Blue 427 4spd no spoiler rear ant car would have been on the lot by mid June 1969.

If anyone remembers the car on the lot or maybe drag racing in the area I'd like to hear stories.

This car was raced, never repainted blue, car still wears the original blue lacquer under the current black paint.

So I'm in Cincinnati and have been to Sharonville show. Are all you guys in this area?

I remember a blue COPO at the show several years ago. Is the one being discussed?

If I remember correctly it was painted black and the guy had a bunch of NOS sheetmetal and parts.Probably not the same car but maybe its the blue restored car now.

The sheetmetal is all original and dated for the car... fenders hood quarters etc. never has had any panel replacement. Car was in Tenn for the last 20 years.

Doubt it...no one had a clue what the car was, this car was raced and was in Tenn 20 years ago.

I believe we are talking about a different car.  The one I speak of was a lemans blue COPO that was detailed and restored to a high level.  Some friends of mine were their at the show with their COPO's as well that day so of course we all came together and approached the car and owner.  Not much more information other than that because the owner was a snob and didn't want to talk to any of us because most of the COPO group I was around were into "day 2" mods like headers, wheels, traction bars, just simple stuff, and the fella just had nothing to say to us.  We were frowned upon  ;D.

Now that  think of it, the car I remember a darker shade of Blue, Dusk Blue? Had dog dish hub caps and all the "original" look. I have no idea if it was "real" or was a clone. It was very nice though.
