confirmation 400 ?
« on: June 27, 2015, 02:59:16 AM »
Hi guys....just like to confirm these numbers if anybody could help.
I think it is a 73 400 block ?? Not sure of the numbers on tranny - supposed to be a TH350
What you think ??
Thanks.

The 3951511 for 1973 is a 400cid with 2 bolt mains, the 1970 and '71 400's have 4 bolt mains. Post a better pic of the trans numbers and you'll get an answer.

Easier to tell the trans type by the pan shape.
That # looks like a partial VIN.

I see Y1K..... on the trans pan.
That's a TH350 code. Made here in Ypsilanti in the old bomber plant.

The pan is that 350 shape so that's good.I looked up that town and it is near Detroit ?
Here is a better look at that other tranny number which is stamped up front on your drivers side near the block.
