Hey guys here's one for a laugh. ( I am making a cross country trip with my kids tomorrow, and trying to locate a clean 69 (non-spoiler) deck lid for a fellow CRG- er, and I ran across this Ad:
https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/5086506026.html

Not sure wether to laugh or cry. I wonder how much time and energy was put into this car over the years..

This one pic is just the tip of this ugly iceberg. You have to see all the pics to understand how much they did not like the looks of the Camaro   :o

(Also if anyone has a non spoiler deck lid please PM me. thanks)

The more I " study it" I am thinking maybe they had like a Deloren vibe they were trying to accomplish with it?

The description in the Ad though is right up there and matches the looks....

Yes, the description is the only funny thing about it.
They made some pretty big changes to the trunk lid opening in the quarters:

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.... Definitely a lot of work went into creating that monstrosity. Frankenstein comes to mind. Just as much work and just as ugly.

This reminds me of a "restored Fresco" story that gained some notoriety a few years back. A painting of Jesus became deteriorated and a woman in the church took it upon herself to "restore" the picture. The results:
Disclaimer: just for illustrative purposes and not in anyway injecting religion into the post.
Way back in my life, there was a very unusual '69 in the Cincy area. Wish I had a pic. Close your eyes and imagine. The guy widened the tops of the fenders and 1/4s by about 8 inches, I guess and this accentuated the "Coke Bottle" styling. Did a pretty good job. Had it on a stock car chassis. I remember the doors were like a foot wide. Don't forget the few station wagon Camaros, here, a few months back.
If I had that talent, I would use it toward something way cooler. The car (1st Gens) was one of those RARE models with impeccable styling and appeal from every angle...why ruin perfection?

Split rear bumper & cut down tail lights  :o - beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

If this is car gets sold I would love to know the thoughts of the purchaser??

Thoughts of purchaser, hmmm...Student of Timothy Leary?  or, maybe, habitual 'Angel Dust' user?

Read the description... It's a car soap opera....
Telling line talks about the 80s...
So that's the modified look for the 80s? Once again proves the theory that no one built cars in the 80s, only transportation....

Did you notice the amount of tool boxes in the garage? It either took all these to create this masterpiece, OR it will take this many tool boxes to get it back toward or close to original. And Yea, 'Angel Dust' with a side of 'Shroooms'

I hadn't noticed the wall of tools - wow!

The car is completely de-badged except the wind-shield visor tint - peculiar to say the least ???
