.....I got the item today and it looks better than I hoped it would and the patina is perfect. Now, I just have to figure out how to replace the cable on it so it will work.

The cable detaches very easily at the mast mounting... OR if you are 'good', you might be able to splice on a new end for the radio plug in.  Smiley

Just tugged on it and doesn't seem it will come out very easy, so I'm guessing it is a firm fit. If I can replace the connection end I'll give it a shot IF I can find some info on how. Gonna google to see if I can fine something.

Here's a CRG link that shows the connector on the upper end of the cable (at the hood), and a second photo that shows the bottom end of the antenna mast (the end that just pushes into the receptacle), and then locks in with the lock nut.   To separate, just remove the upper lock nut, then the antenna mast should slide out.

Yeah....I figured out that part a long time ago, that's a no brainer...it's the black cable attached to the base that needs replacing/repairing. Is it possible to remove this or does the hole thing have to go into the trash for a new one?

Gary, The part that I sent you needs the end replaced on the cable that plugs into the radio.  If you can find out the proper length for a '69 Camaro antenna cable (from front fender antenna), you could cut off the cable that is on the antenna, and re-install the plug in connector (for the radio end).  I don't think that would be a big deal for someone familiar with making up electrical cables, although antenna cables require a little more skill/knowledge.  Probably any person with electrical technician experience could do it well.

I might be able to get this guy where my wife works to check it out. He does most all the electronics work there, if he can't he'll probably know someone who does. So the R & R of that cable is impossible then from what I'm getting.
