  I usually don't buy this mag., CAMARO Performer but my brother-in-law gave me this one as a Christmas gift.  Looking through it I found on pg. 16 in an article titled Off the Line, a Rare colored photo of a 67 Camaro on the Fisher Body side of the LOS plant.  They say that they assume this is very early in production because there is only one worker on the line.  I am going to try to scan the pic. and post it here in the near future.

Yes it is almost, looks like same guy, just a little different stance. The article states that the colored one I posted is an original rare colored photo from the GM Media Archives.

OK guys, here's the whole article. You might note, one comment they made in this article clarifies the discussion that has been on here before. Note in all the pictures the Cowl Tag is in place before any paint is on the car.

When I was doing the research for Echoes of Norwood I assisted GM Media Archives in identifying many of the vintage assembly photos due to the architectural differences between the two plants.  Having the Blueprints for NOR helped greatly in this effort.     During the process photos were also found that were not categorized correctly.  This was the fun part of the research.

It's also a different body, note the first car (Color version) is sitting on truck 17, the second one is sitting on truck 15.  Also note how the sequence number on the fire wall (inside the trans tunnel) appears to match the truck number that its sitting on.

That is a keen observation Mark. Even Camaro Performers missed that. They commented on not knowing what the 17 on the firewall meant.

One would assume it somehow related to the sequence number that is also on the cowl tag.  Was probably easier to see the number on the side of the truck from across the room than to have to look for the hand written code on the firewall early in the build cycle so the right parts got to the right body.   Can't tell if those numbers are permanently attached to the truck or some kind of tag that was just hung on there and could be changed each time when a new body tub was mounted to it.

They're confused about the body when it entered the Paint Shop - "Unlike new cars, the body went to the paint shop in bare steel. It wasn't E-coated to protect against rust like today's cars." Nothing has changed - bodies still leave the Body Shop and enter the Paint Shop in bare steel, where they get cleaned, phosphated, primed, sealed, and color-coated. E-coated body panels are only furnished to Service - all production panels are bare steel; you can't reliably spot-weld E-coated steel panels.

Article claims that is an Impala, and proves that this is Van Nuys plant, as Norwood only produced Camaros.
